They have 7 different balls, 2 premium balls for the better golfer with high speed impacts, one for mid range head speed and 4 balls for the lower head speed. However the different cover materials and constructions will change the ball flight angle and spin rate. As a result, knowing what your launch conditions are they are able to change your ball to get you closer to optimum conditions and increase distance. This is their ball fitting program called the Bridgestone challenge where you hit the ball you would normally use and compare to different Bridgestone constructions. They claim that 75 percent of the time they are able to fit you to a Bridgestone ball which will outperform the ball you are presently using.

Ping
The new product introductions have happened for Ping with the new G15 driver. Most interesting is the simple fitting system of interchanging different shafts with heads rather than having a huge inventory of clubs. Pictured here is the AFS driver bag.

Callaway drivers
First driver we checked out was the Callaway FTiZ a mostly composite head and a bigger face, with an aerodynamic head. The Diablo Edge is all titanium. Both claim to increase distance only when you miss the sweetspot.

The PGA Merchandise Show 2010
This year's PGA Merchandise Show will be the 42nd show that I have attended (I started attending the show when I was very young). I've seen it all...the earliest shows began in a tent in West Palm and if it rained, vendors had to lift their goods from the ground to stop them getting water damaged.
Nowadays things are much more sophisticated with a demo day and a wonderful Show at the Orange County Convention Center.
Valerie and I be walking the floor and will bring you my take on the newest toys from the major manufacturers. So stay tuned.
